Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated May 12, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements the Terms of Service and applies to all use of the 3ngram platform, APIs, MCP server, and website.
Prohibited content
You may not store, transmit, or share content that:
- Is illegal under applicable law
- Promotes violence, harassment, or discrimination
- Contains malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Infringes intellectual property rights of others
- Contains personally identifiable information of others without their consent
- Is deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading
Prohibited activities
You may not:
- Attempt to access other users' data or bypass tenant isolation and access controls
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data beyond normal API usage
- Reverse engineer the platform
- Use the service for cryptocurrency mining, DDoS, or other resource abuse
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or abuse free trials
- Automate access in a way that degrades the service for other users
- Resell or redistribute the hosted service without written consent
- Use the platform to build a competing product by systematic data extraction
Sensitive data
3ngram is designed for work-related memory and accountability. You should not store:
- Health records or protected health information (PHI)
- Financial data (credit card numbers, bank accounts)
- Government-issued identifiers (SSN, passport numbers)
- Authentication secrets (passwords, API keys, private keys)
If you need to store sensitive third-party data, you must have informed consent from the data subject and comply with all applicable regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
AI tool and MCP-specific use
3ngram is an AI memory and accountability platform exposed via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The following AI-tool-specific behaviours are prohibited:
- No prompt-injection probing of the 3ngram MCP server, or any attempt to manipulate model instructions in order to access other tenants' data, exfiltrate system prompts, or escalate privileges.
- No MCP-tool abuse, including calling tools repeatedly to extract bulk data, attempting to bypass rate limits via the MCP surface, or impersonating other clients or users.
- No reuse of 3ngram model outputs, embeddings, or memory content to train competing AI systems, memory products, or derivative models.
- No automated content generation that bypasses memory-quality guards, including synthetic memory floods, scripted ingestion designed to game ranking or surfacing, or any pattern that degrades retrieval quality for other users.
Rate limits and fair use
API and MCP usage is subject to rate limits. These exist to ensure fair access for all users. Current limits are documented in our API documentation. Systematic attempts to circumvent rate limits may result in account suspension.
Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in:
- A warning with a request to correct the behavior
- Temporary suspension of your account
- Permanent termination of your account
- Reporting to law enforcement where required
We aim to handle violations proportionally. Where possible, we will notify you before taking action and give you an opportunity to correct the issue.
Reporting violations
If you become aware of a violation of this policy, contact abuse@3ngram.ai. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.
